Lovegotchi vs Widgetable: which one fits the two of you?

Both apps help two people feel close from their phones, and both have pets — but they’re built around very different ideas. Here’s a fair side-by-side.

We make Lovegotchi, so read this with that in mind. We’ve described Widgetable using what its developer, Happeny Technology, says on its own Google Play listing (checked October 2026), and we’ve tried to be fair about what it does better.

Where Widgetable shines

  • Glanceable closeness. If you love seeing a friend’s status, distance, or mood on your lock screen without opening anything, Widgetable has far more widget types.
  • Groups of friends. It’s designed for “besties” as well as couples.
  • iPhone support. If one of you uses an iPhone, Widgetable works on both platforms today; Lovegotchi is Android-only for now.

Where Lovegotchi shines

  • A real pet game. Mochi has needs, moods, cooldowns, and a long evolution path from egg to legend — care is the main thing you do, not a side feature.
  • Made for exactly two. Everything — the pet, the room, the chat, the memories — belongs to one private pair.
  • Your story in one place. A streak, days together, anniversary countdown, and a timeline that records milestones automatically.
  • Fewer sensitive permissions. No location or sleep tracking is needed to play.

Which should you choose?

  • Choose Widgetable if you want lots of widgets, live status like distance or sleep, or you need iPhone support.
  • Choose Lovegotchi if you want to raise a pet together as a game, with a private space just for the two of you.
  • Or use both — they do different jobs, and nothing stops you from having a widget app and a pet game.
